She was waiting patiently for him to get there. He was finally going to be in her arms. All she ever did was think of him, and dream of him, and now that he was back with her again, her reality hit hard.
He had texted her while she was at work in the little hole in the wall diner that she loved so much, and told her that he had a surprise for her when she got off of work. She always loved his surprises. He finally pulled up in his beat up truck, but she wouldn’t want him driving anything else but that.
"Hey, hop in", he said, and then she smiled and ran to open the passenger door.
"Finally," she replied, kissing him quickly on his cheek, and then he smiled and squeezed her hand.
"Trust me, tonight will be worth it," he made a right turn, and they were soon off for their magical night.
He pulled up to some condominiums, and she figured this is where he had been living since he got back from his dads and moved out of his moms duplex finally. As they walked up the stairs, she noticed that he lived on the second floor, and had a really small, but perfect balcony. There was a screen that protected the balcony, so they could sit there anytime of year, rain, snow, sleet, it didn’t matter.
"Wow, this place is really cute", she said as she stood in the living room looking around.
"I’m glad you like it," he smiled and then took her coat for her and hung it up in the closet.
"So, its a nice night, lets go on the balcony," she said and then they headed outside. The air was frigid, but she stayed near him, and his body heat always kept her warm. The sky was such a clear, dark black that they could definitely see the stars that night.
She was hopeful.
